Room update:  SOARING EAGLE HOTEL RESERVATIONS
We have oversold our room block. We are at nearly 290 room nights. I have asked the Sales manager to extend the $89 rate for this week yet. He is checking the availability. You will need to call or fax the reservations dept. to reserve your rooms from this point on. The number is 989-775-7777 and ask for reservations. This is looking to be a big event.

Another Reminder: Entry Postmark deadline is next Monday the 15th. Any entry not postmarked by then will be subject to late fees. Entries after that date, may or may not be accepted. Entries must go through your league operator, so please allow enough time for that to happen.

Original announcement:

The MIBCA has reached an agreement with the Soaring Eagle Casino of Mt. Pleasant, MI, to host the 2010 Michigan BCA State Championships. The dates for the event are March 25-28, 2010. The room rate will be $89 per night with continental breakfast included.   (98E35N)

The hotel has one large ballroom and 3 breakout rooms which will hold 4 tables each. A total of 27 to 30 Valley tables will be provided for play. Play will begin Thursday March 25th with 9-ball. Scotch doubles will be moved to Sunday this year. More information will be forthcoming. New or existing league operators are asked to contact Jerry Potvin or Dean Roeseler or any other board member listed for questions related to BCAPL leagues or the tournament.  Contact page.    A minimum of $2500 will be added to the tournament.  Click here for the 2010 Tournament page.

The rankings list is being worked on. We hope to have all current players on that list and with help of the league operators, continue to add to it. 

Due to the demolition of the Soaring Eagle Inn scheduled for March 1st 2010, the 2010 MIBCA state tourney will be held in the ballroom near the hotel. The dates will remain the same, March 25-28, 2010.  For those of you who remember back in 2000-2002, it is a different location, not the entertainment hall where the tournaments used to be held.

The better news is that the contracted room rate of $89 will be honored at the casino hotel. I will have a group code hopefully later this week for you to reserve rooms. I will also attempt to obtain some match plays or some additional added money for the event. I cannot guarantee anything, but this may be our chance to prove our worth once again at this venue. This all transpired since Friday, so check with the website for more updates.
